Having worked both in professional practice and within growing businesses, I have seen the challenges from both sides of the table.
As a Chartered Accountant, I spent ten years supporting owner-managed businesses with audit, accounts, tax and advisory services, helping clients navigate everything from day-to-day compliance to more complex commercial decisions.
I then moved into senior leadership roles within a large group of family-owned businesses, with responsibilities spanning finance, risk, compliance and sustainability.
As part of the leadership team, I helped support growth from £75m to £125m, including through several acquisitions, while improving systems and processes that allowed the business to scale effectively.
Working within a growing business gave me a different perspective, helping me understand the challenges of leadership, growth and decision-making from inside the business.
Today, Harbourlight brings together the strengths of both worlds: technical accounting expertise and practical commercial insight, helping business owners make informed decisions with confidence.
